Minister Nzimande to release the report of the working group on Science, Technology, and Innovation funding (STI-WG) for public comment

The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof Blade Nzimande, tabled the Report of the Ministerial Working Group on Science, Technology and Innovation Funding before Cabinet on 1 July 2026.
Cabinet supported the report’s recommendations and directed that their implementation be coordinated through the Science, Technology and Innovation Inter-Ministerial Committee.
As the next step, the Minister intends to table the report in Parliament before formally releasing it for public comment.
The Ministry will provide further details on this process in due course.
