Low-cost broadband comes to life in Limpopo
TV White Spaces pilot in Limpopo: a model for low-cost broadband comes to life
Imagine a world in which the youth of today can grow up where broadband internet was as common a learning tool as the blackboard…
The Microsoft 4Afrika initiative and its partners - the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the DST and Multisource - are attempting to achieve just that by enabling a quality education for all and creating opportunities for the youth through technology, partnerships, and programmes such as theTV White Spaces pilot project.
Imagine if this model to access affordable broadband can be replicated across business, healthcare, community centres, tourist hotspots and into the homes of all South Africans by 2020…
Join us at the University of Limpopo as we celebrate the implementation phase and possibilities of the Limpopo TV White Spaces pilot. In addition we will also offer you a rare glimpse into what this means for a school such as Mountainview Secondary School where the impact of broadband access-enabled education is visible.
