There will be discussions on current issues pertaining to the management and commercialisation of IP and the role that WIPO plays in the global administration of IP in enhancing TT.

Curriculum

The programme includes lectures by eminent WIPO and external experts in the field of IP and TT, as well as  case studies and group discussions on selected IP topics.

A certificate of participation will be awarded to everyone who successfully completes all the requirements of the programme.

Eligibility

The Summer School is open to 50 senior students (graduates and postgraduates) and young professionals in any field of study or discipline. The programme is designed for candidates who are already familiar with IP.

Pre-selected candidates will be required to successfully complete a special session of the Academy's distance learning module, Course on Intellectual Property Management. Dates for this session will be announced upon pre-selection.

Participants are responsible for their own travel costs to and from Durban, as well as accommodation and living expenses during their participation in the programme.
