MINISTER NZIMANDE AND CHINESE AMBASSADOR MR WU PENG TO COMMEMORATE YOUTH MONTH THROUGH THE SA-CHINA YOUNG SCIENTIST SYMPOSIUM
As part of South Africa’s Youth Month commemorations, the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation will host the South Africa-China Young Scientist Symposium in partnership with the Embassy of China in South Africa.
The symposium will be held under the theme, “Youth, Science, Unity for Good,” and forms part of efforts to strengthen science diplomacy and collaboration between South Africa and China.
The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Blade Nzimande, and His Excellency, Mr. Wu Peng, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of South Africa, will attend the symposium and deliver remarks.
The Symposium will provide a platform for young scientists from South Africa and China to share experiences, exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Participants will gain deeper insight into the South Africa-China Young Scientist Exchange Programme, the Talented Young Scientist Programme, the South Africa-China Joint Research Programme and other joint collaborative initiatives.
The programme will also consider how youth and science can help respond to the opportunities and challenges of a changing world.
