Minister Nzimande to address MeerKAT@5 conference

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Blade Nzimande, will address the [MeerKAT@5 conference](mailto:MeerKAT@5 conference) on Tuesday 20 February at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study.

The four-day conference, which runs from 20 to 24 February 2024, brings together key stakeholders who have contributed to the development of the MeerKAT telescope.

The conference will be held under the theme "Celebrating transformational science, engineering and human capacity development", to share and celebrate the achievements, milestones and contributions of MeerKAT to astronomy, science, technology and international collaboration.

Over 200 participants, including astronomers, scientists, engineers, government officials and international students will attend the conference.
