On 24 November, South Africa recorded 1 275 new cases of COVID-19 – the country's highest daily increase since the beginning of October. A total of 35 390 tests were conducted over the last 24 hours, with the new cases representing a 3,6% positivity rate.

In light of this alarming spike in COVID-19 infections, the launch of the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Technology Innovation Cluster, scheduled to take place on 29 November, has been postponed until further notice. A new date for the launch will be communicated in due course.
