Extension of period for compliance with Regulations for the Protection of the Karoo Central Astronomy Advantage Areas

On 11 October 2019, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation extended the period for compliance with the Regulations for the Protection of the Karoo Central Astronomy Advantage Areas to 15 June 2020.

Due to the restrictions on everyday life resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, on 3 June 2020, the Minister extended the period for compliance by a further six months to allow licensees and licence exempt operators more time to comply with the provisions of the Regulations.  The extension, which is until 15 December 2020, was announced in Notice No. 629, published in Government Gazette No. 43387.
