Tabling of Department of Science and Technology Budget Vote by Minister Naledi Pandor

The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, will table the Department of Science and Technology's 2014/15 Budget Vote in Parliament on Tuesday, 22 July 2014, to highlight the Department's key focus areas for the financial year.

The Budget Vote will be followed by a presentation on the status of innovation in South Africa by the CEO of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Dr Sibusiso Sibisi.  This will be held at the Cape Town Centre for the Book, during lunch from 12:30 to 13:30.

The public will also get an opportunity to experience "science at work", with some of the best projects of the DST's entities exhibited at the Centre for the Book.  The Cape Town Science Centre will also host an exhibition to highlight the importance of science and technology in society.
