With government prioritising job creation and skills development for the country’s youth, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Buti Manamela, is looking forward to addressing the opening session of the Emerging Researchers Symposium (ERS), where young people will be sharing technology solutions.
The ERS, which will be held under the theme "Innovation in Entrepreneurship" will showcase the work of emerging researchers. The symposium will also include oral and poster presentations on topics such as smart technology, biopharmaceuticals, HIV, SARS-CoV-2, laser engineering, solar photovoltaic power, machine learning and food technology.
The Deputy Minister will be joined by the CSIR CEO, Dr Thulani Dlamini. Young researchers with winning innovative research solutions will be recognised at a prize-giving ceremony on 13 July.
