Science diplomacy is intrinsic to any country’s innovation system and related strategy and policy-making, which interfaces with economic diplomacy. It is aligned with promoting the African Union’s Agenda 2063 ‘The Africa We Want’. Agenda 2063 is Africa’s blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. The DSI in collaboration with the CSIR will formally establish Tshwane as the African Science Diplomacy Capital, underpinned by the 4 pillars: • Promote multilateral science collaboration across and beyond Africa. • Leverage and connect technology and innovation in addressing the challenges facing humanity • Embed a culture of learning and the sharing of best practices underpinned by sound .governance • Reinforce science diplomacy as the heart of Africa’s socio-economic development and growth. Walk-in.
